Smile Enhancement with Crown and Bridge
If you’ve ever covered your mouth when laughing, or declined to smile for a picture, you might be wondering how you can smile with more confidence. The latest cosmetic treatments can make a noticeable difference in the look of your smile, in a lot less time than you think.
Crowns are a cosmetic and restorative restoration. They are useful in terms of improving the shape of your teeth, and/or strengthen a tooth. Crowns are mainly used to treat teeth that are broken, worn out, or have been visually affected by tooth decay. A dental crown is placed onto an existing tooth and fully covers the visible portion of your tooth, above the gum line. Once the dental crown is affixed, it essentially becomes the new outer surface of your once-damaged tooth. Crowns can be fabricated out of porcelain, metal, or a combination of both. Porcelain crowns are most often preferred because they mimic the colour and translucency of natural teeth.
A bridge may be used to replace missing teeth. It replaces missing teeth with artificial teeth, and literally bridges gaps where one or more teeth used to be. A bridge can be made of gold, metal alloys, porcelain, or a combination of these materials.
